Session on Awareness about Digital Payments
ISTE Staff Chapter of School of Engineering and School of Diploma Studies has organized awareness program related to “Vittiya Saksharta Abhiyan (VISAKA)” in association with Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India for non-teaching staff members of RK University with following objectives.
-To engage society in cash less transactions
-To aware civilians to use mode of digital payment
-To learn about available options for digital payment
Dr. Amit Lathigara, Head – Computer Engineering is working as a volunteer in a mission started by Government of India to engage society in cashless transactions under “Vittiya Saksharta Abhiyan (VISAKA)” initiated by Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.He has conducted session to make others aware about cashless transactions.
Various key points related to available options for Digital Payments were discussed in a session like:
- Debit/Rupay Cards
- USSD – Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD) based Mobile
- Banking Mobile Wallets
- AEPS – Aadhaar Enabled Payment
- System UPI – Unified Payment Interface
Pre-test was conducted before a session to have feedback from user like, are they having bank account, insurance, life cover, aadhar, mobile etc? have they ever used online payment gateway? etc.
At end of session, post-test conducted to have a feedback from users. Majority were agreed to initiate cashless transactions and taken oath to aware their friends, relatives, colleagues about cashless transactions.
Dr. Ajitkumar Shukla, Director, School of Engineering has engaged participants to do at least one real time transaction and demonstrated use of mobile wallet through real time app.
