The farm power laboratory is an important component in for UG students in the department. The laboratory caters to the needs of the students with respect to their study on power on the farm for doing various farm operations. The laboratory has facility for exposing the students to tractors, engines and their systems. The experiments conducted in the laboratory include familiarization with various farmmachinery for different field operations like tillage, sowing, planting, inter-culture, spraying, harvesting, threshing etc. are displayed at one place. It is useful to the visitors and students to acquaint about various versions of farm machinery.
Soil and Water Engineering Laboratory
The soil and water laboratory is an important component in for UG students in the department. The laboratory caters to the needs of the students with respect to their study on hydrology, irrigation; well inventory, soil and water conservation practices. The experiments conducted in the laboratory include field survey. It well developed with different equipments like rain gauge, panvaporimeter, current meter, watershed model, water level indicator, cut section model of centrifugal pump, double ring infiltrometer, tensiometer, hot air oven, anemometer garden tools and irrigation plot (900m2)including drip and sprinkler systems. It is useful to the visitors and students.
Food Process Engineering Laboratory
The food process engineering laboratory is the important component for UG students of the department. The laboratory caters the need of the students with respect to the following subjects, viz. engineering properties of biological materials and food quality, crop process engineering, food packaging technology, by-products and waste utilization, dairy and food engineering, development of products and equipment. The experiment conducted in the laboratory includes shape and size of fruits and grains, particle density and specific gravity of solid grains, bulk density and porosity of grains, thermal conductivity of granular grains, milling and cooking quality of food grains, hardness test of biomaterials, cooking quality of rice, bursting and tearing strength of packaging materials, test kit for detection of milk adulteration. It is well developed with various equipment like mobile vb elevator, seed grader model, seed gravity separator model, lab model hammer mill, seed dressing machine, hand operated mini oil expeller, hardness tester, bursting strength tester, tearing strength tester, moisture meter, conductivity meter, microwave oven, food processor, digital hygrometer, hand refractometer, milk adulteration test kit. The laboratory is useful for the demonstration to visitors and students to acquaint with the practical aspects of food process engineering.
