On 24th March 2018, 4rd semester Students from department of Electrical Engineering had visited at Kalorana132 kV substation. By visiting this industry students understood the construction and working of various components of substation as well as for the wind turbine generator setup.
The substation performs the operation of stepping up 33 kV to 132 kV, where 33 kV is obtained from currently active 50 wind mills situated at the village area. In future more 14 wind mills are to be added in active circuit. The power rating of each wind mills is 2 MW. The substation includes two active transformers each rated 60 MVA. It includes two double circuit lines of 132 kV connected to grid.
The industrial visit is believed to be filler between some of the theories and current practices observed in electrical engineering.
