Capacity building is important for any organization; specially for a learning organization like a university it is a routine task. RK University has been proactively persevering to improve the knowledge and skill set of its human resources since its inception by promoting learning culture.
Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode, Kerala organized a Faculty Development Program in November 2017 on “Advanced Financial Statement Analysis” on its campus in Kohzikode. Professor and Director of School of Management-RKU, Dr. Dharmesh Raval attended this one week FDP and improved his learning about financial statements and teaching methods adopted by IIMs.
The topics which were discussed during this FDP were Cash flow statement analysis, Earnings Management, Accounting Based Measures of Risk, Financial Instruments, Financial Statement Analysis, Consolidated Financial Statements , IFRS, Detecting Earnings Manipulation, Stock Analysis using Financial Statements and other related topics.
Dr. Dharmesh Raval is Professor at School of Management of RK University and is also serving as Director of School of Management and Dean of Faculty of Management for programs like BBA, MBA and Ph.D. At RKU and SOM an attempt is made to improve curriculum along with teaching pedagogy to improve skill set of students and make them more employable and independent thinkers.
