School of Pharmacy, RK University, organized a 2-day refresher course for registered Pharmacists on 7th & 8th July, 2018, sponsored by Gujarat State Pharmacy Council.
The course received a tremendous response and had participants from various fields of Pharmacy like medical stores, hospitals, primary health centres and industries, from the age group of 22 to 70.
The inauguration was graced by Hon. Vice-Chancellor of RKU Dr. T. R. Desai, Hon. Registrar of RKU Shri Shivlalbhai Ramani, Dr. Joy Sanariya, MD Medicine, Medi Surge hospital and Mr. Ankit Anadkat, Secretary, Alumni Association of RK University.
Four lectures were delivered by the faculties of School of Pharmacy, RK University, themselves: Prof. Dr. Devang Pandya, Course Director and Dy. Director, School of Pharmacy, regaled the audience with the latest happenings affecting the Pharmacy profession in India and advanced countries. Prof. Dr. Ketan Shah, Course Co-ordinator, delivered a lecture on one of the crucial aspects affecting Community Pharmacy: Storage of drugs. Prof. Dr. Pravin Tirgar, Anchor of the course and Co-coordinator, delivered a lecture on Adverse Drug Reactions including an exercise of actual reporting at the end. Dr. Pankaj Kapupara, Associate Professor, School of Pharmacy, gave a detailed account regarding Pharmaceutical Exports, which attracted specific attention of entrepreneurs.
Dr. Joy Sanariya combined fun with learning as he talked about therapeutic updates of common diseases. Two speakers were from Intas Pharmaceuticals, Ahmedabad: Mr. Manan Shroff, Manager, Global IP, talked about Patent Laws affecting the Pharmaceutical industry, whereas Mr. Viral Shah, Team Leader, R & D, talked about Novel Drug Delivery Systems. The lectures were followed by an objective test.
The valedictory was graced by Executive Council Member of Gujarat State Pharmacy Council Shri Maheshbhai Vekariya and Drug Information Centre executive officers Ms. Khushi Pathak & Ms. Dipali Savaliya.
Executive Vice-President of RK University and Chief Patron of the Course Mr. Denishbhai Patel congratulated the team of School of Pharmacy for receiving excellent feedback for this course.
