School of Pharmacy, RK University arranges industrial visits, health awareness campaigns, community training & hands-on instrument training for the students’ holistic development and better understanding of actual pharmacy practice.
Govt. job as a Pharmacist in village Primary Health Centres (PHC) is one of the most sought-after jobs. However, it requires practical knowledge of Pharmacy and applicability in the socio-economic environment of a village.
In this regard, 7th Semester B. Pharm and PG students of School of Pharmacy Visited the Primary Health Center of Khirasara Village, Rajkot on 21st August, 2018. The PHC – Khirasara is accredited by NABH – National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers. NABH is a constituent board of Quality Council of India, set up to establish and operate accreditation programme for healthcare organizations. PHC-Khirasara is awarded as one of the best PHC center in India.
From this visit, the students learned about disease in holistic perspectives, i.e. understanding the patient, the environment (physical, social, economical) etc. Students also learned about the different health care delivery system available at village level.
This educational visit helped students to understand Drug Store Management, Dispensing method and documentation, Immunization program conduction, PHC setup and Govt. Health Policy, Biological Disposal system, Creative medicinal garden etc. at PHC.
