Few of the workshop topics are Goal setting, psychometric assessment, self awareness, SWOT analysis, resume building, Interview facing skills and others.
In this era of economic upheaval and competition, strengthening the employability skills of the students is a key challenge for both academia and industry. Graduating students need to be groomed and professionally developed along the lines of industry expectations. With an aim to give hands on experience of machines, systems and technologies used by industries and to make them industry ready, we have introduced internship training programme of varied duration ranging from two weeks to sixteen weeks for the students of different courses like B.Tech, Diploma, MBA, M.Pharm and M.Sc.
For effective placements, we establish close ties with the companies, which are in the process of providing jobs to our students. The existing placement cell keeps an intensive interface with leading corporate / consultants. RKU students gain valuable work experience through the internships provided, especially if students are looking to work in a specific career field. Since relevant work experience is one of the key qualifications companies look for when comparing candidates for a job or internship, completing several internships during college greatly increases the chances of being selected for a job after graduation. RKU believes even though its students gain the knowledge required for succeeding in a specific career through their college courses and curriculum, internships are one of the best ways to develop the required skills necessary to gain the experience required to be successful in the field.
We desire that students of our University should be clear about their career goals, i.e. “what they want to do after completion of their graduation/ Post Graduation? “.
Three basic career goals for any undergraduate student are: 1) To go for higher studies, 2) To do a Job or 3) To become an entrepreneur/ Join Family Business. We at RK University offer two different elective/career tracks to the students with diverse career goals.
We have regular practice to schedule mock interviews for the students who are opting for the placement. A mock interview is an emulation of a job interview used for training purposes. Mock interviews provide candidates with an opportunity to test their interview skills. Mock interviews help students in reducing their anxiety, give boost to their confidence and an opportunity to get constructive feedback from the interviewer to identify areas of improvement.
The Training & Placement Department who takes the role of the interviewer will make Mock Campus interview as realistic as possible by conducting Pre-Placement Talk, Aptitude Test, Technical Interview, HR Interview by asking questions that are typical of those that might be asked for the type of position students are seeking during Campus Placement Day. The students are provided with a detailed analysis Report on their strengths and weaknesses after the event.
The main Purpose of Conducting Mock Campus Event is to make aware Final Year Students how to supplement resume information, Students understand their strengths and weaknesses and have a sense of direction, Enable the employer to evaluate Student personality and attitudes in terms of the demands of the organization and the position, The interview assessment criteria include Technical skills, communication skills, vocational competency, critical thinking, problem solving, and professionalism.
We are taking pride in preparing our students for the future, which is embedded in RKU’s mission.
